A gourmet's delight – specialities from the Rheinland

The advent of spring  –  who wants to hang on to winter depressions when everything around you is full of the joys of spring? The sprouting of new life inspires us with new ideas for delicious creations around the bountiful choice of delicately fresh spring vegetables.

Asparagus from the local 'Niederrhein'-area turns the month of May into a month of sublime gourmet bliss! Savour the freshly harvested local delicacy, for May is the time of year when it's most palatable.

Beans, the multi-cultural vegetable resides in pots and pans all over the world. Whether it's 'Rheinischer Bohneneintopf' (bean stew) or a beans salad with coquilles St. Jacques topped with an extravagantly tasty dressing of peach oil  – from the plain to the exquisite –  there is an infinitely wide range of mouth-watering beans creations.

Noodles make the world a happy place. They remind us not only of summer and holidays, they delight us in all variations from hot and spicy to sweet and fruity. Take e.g. poppy seed noodles with stewed plum sauce and vanilla ice-cream topping - a 'sweet guest' from Austria on our menu.

In the HOTEL PAPILLON we celebrate the comeback of 'Gemütlichkeit'  –  this is our priority. The local 'Rhineländers' prefer sitting closely together, appreciating good food at fair prices in our restaurant rooms which convey a homely atmosphere.
